I'm over on Swirl and Thread talking about the benefits of writing for podcasters. Check it out and while you're over there check out the other author guest posts - they are full of interesting topics and insight, and Mairead's reviews as well.
I'm over on Jera's Jamboree being interviewed by Shaz. We talk about inspiration and influences, as well as surprising protagonists!
In a special episode of the podcast, Kate and I got together to have a chat about my book. Obviously we've had many chats about our book in process, but this time we get specific.
After being asked about influences and favourite books in interviews, I properly reflected on my biggest bookish influences that affected me writing this book. I talk orcs for a bit, sympathetic and not, Margaret Atwood's storytelling style, books that have pushed unreliable narrators to something new, and stories of costly and unpredictable magic.
Kate reads an excerpt from the book, to give our listeners a bit of a taste.
To mark my publication day, I'm over on Anne O'Leary's blog Word Herding, doing a Q&A. Anne's a long time listener to the podcast and we've had some online chats in the past. I was absolutely delighted to talk to her about my book. Check it out!
I'm over on Pict Publishing today, talking about what writing has taught me about podcasting. You can read it here.
It's exciting and nerve-wracking with less than a week to go to the release of my first book After the World (I believe I've mentioned it before). It's out on the 8th of May.
It's now up on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk for pre-order - more listings to follow as they become available.
Jenna over at Parchment and Quill Chronicle is hosting my book cover reveal today. You can see it in all it's glory over there.
We talked book covers on Irish Writers Podcast recently, and I spoke about how much I liked my cover. When talking to my editor about covers, I really didn't have a fixed idea of what I wanted, and when I saw the cover I realised it was exactly what I hadn't known I wanted.
We're slightly under two weeks to go to the book release. I can't believe it's almost here!
